Living History
Living History
The mission of the LHD, under the sponsorship of the Parris Island Heritage Foundation (PIHF), is the presentation and preservation of Marine Corps history through the education of Marine recruits and the general public. The primary method used is a first-person Living History exhibit that allows the recruits or target audience to go beyond seeing artifacts in a showcase and stimulates all their senses as they interact with our living historians. The Detachment For more information contact Major Eric Junger USMC (ret) at 843-2633290.
LHD assists and pushes "honor, courage and commitment" to recruits coming in from the Crucible to receive their Eagle, Globe and Anchor as official Marines of the Marine Corps! Oorah!
LHD participates in events around the country. Pictured above is a flame throwing demonstration at the Battle of Aiken in February 2024.
